Check out the Travel Essentials You Need to Pack Post Lockdown

After spending a majority part of 2020 under the shadow of coronavirus, finally, the government is lifting lockdowns. This also means that restrictions on travel are easing up in many parts of the world. So, if you are planning an excursion any time soon, here is a list of travel essentials post lockdown to make sure you have a safe trip.

Masks, gloves, and other protective gear

A mask is one of the most critical travel essentials post lockdown. You should keep a whole pack or at least a couple. If possible, get a few pairs of gloves too, so you don’t have to make direct contact with door handles, elevator buttons, etc. Depending on the level of protection you desire, you could also carry a face shield or an entire PPE kit.

Disinfectant wipes

Disinfectant wipes are a vital travel necessity post lockdown, especially if you plan on using public transport. Before you sit, wipe down the seat, the armrests, the back of the seat in front of you, or any surface around you that could have infectious droplets on it. Be careful not to use the same wipe on your face or hands. Also, wipe your phone, wallet/handbag, watch, glasses/shades, etc. from time to time. If you can’t find disinfectant wipes, get a disinfectant spray and use tissues or paper towels to wipe.

Hand sanitizer

Keep a hand sanitizer on your person at all times. It is one of the most vital travel necessities post lockdown. If you don’t have disinfectant wipes, sanitize your hands immediately after touching objects like door handles, elevator buttons, etc. If a vendor does not accept online payment, and you have to pay in cash, sanitize your hands immediately after putting away the change.

While flying, you are allowed to carry up to 350 mL of hand sanitizer in your carry-on luggage. If you are carrying more, pack it in your checked baggage.

Power banks

While we are still in the midst of a pandemic, you should avoid using the ATM and making payments in cash. Instead, use internet/mobile banking, digital wallets, and UPI options. Some vendors may even refuse to accept cash and only consider digital payments. As such, you would be using your phone to make payments while shopping, or paying for a cab, etc. Therefore, you should always keep a Power Bank handy.
