Tata IPL 2023 Team Details and Players to Watch Out for

For the first time ever, we’re witnessing the Women’s IPL play out in spectacular fashion. As fans rejoice in the tournament and its glory, it is, however, coming to an end soon. But that doesn’t mean the celebrations will stop, as the Tata IPL 2023 will start soon! 

Beginning on the 31st of March 2023, the 16th edition of IPL is yet to start as fans eagerly await their favourite players and IPL teams to take over the pitch. As you look forward to the tournament, we bring you some interesting information to keep you excited!

Where is the Tata IPL 2023 taking place this year?

As the IPL is an all-India event, fans can catch all their favourite IPL teams at different places throughout India. With an eye on major cities and famous locations, the IPL will find itself at 12 stadiums scattered throughout the country. They are:

This year is also seeing a new stadium for players and fans alike. The Ekana Stadium at Lucknow will open to IPL 2023 for the first time. It will also be the home ground for the team Lucknow Super Giants. The first match will be held on the 1st of April and will have seven games at the venue. All these seven matches will feature Lucknow Super Giants as the home team playing against the other teams.  

Key details to note

Ten teams will be playing at this year’s IPL. They are split into two groups of five each. There will be a total of 74 league matches between the 10 IPL 2023 teams. Each team in the same group will play twice, while the teams in the different groups will play each other once.

While all the IPL 2023 teams face each other in a round-robin format, the final selection is based on the number of points each team has. After all the league matches are over, the top four teams will enter the qualifying stage. 

1. First, the teams in the top two places will play against each other, with the winner directly going to the finals. 

2. Next, the teams ranked 3rd and 4th in the points table will play against each other. 

3. The winner of this match plays against the team who lost in the first qualifier.

4. Lastly, the finals follow the winner of the last qualifying match against the first qualifier.
