Samsung S20 vs. S20+ vs. S20 Ultra – Comparison

The latest flagships from tech giant Samsung were released on 11th February 2020. Buyers are spoilt for choice among the standard S20, the larger variant S20+, and the super-premium S20 Ultra. All three come packed with up-to-date technologies, but there are some key differences. Let’s have a look.

Design

Apart from size, the overall designs are pretty much similar. The display curvature increases from S20 to S20+ to being the most curved panel in Ultra. All three sport punch-hole front cameras. With minimal bezels, the screen set up is more immersive in all three variants.

The camera module is the largest in S20 Ultra, with the size getting smaller in S20+, followed by S20. All three have glass backs. The frames are made of aluminum in S20 and S20+, while Ultra is top-notch with a sturdier and slightly heavier stainless steel frame.

Color options in the standard S20 include Cosmic Grey, Cloud Blue, and Cloud Pink. S20+ will be available in Cosmic Grey, Cloud Blue, and Cosmic Black. And, S20 Ultra has options in Cosmic Grey and Cosmic Black.

Display

The refresh rate on the QHD+ displays is 120 Hz, which gives a super-smooth viewing experience. S20 features a 6.2-inch panel. S20+ offers a 6.7-inch screen, while the viewing experience is taken to a different level in 20 Ultra that features a 6.9-inch screen. All three displays are Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O.

Performance

Samsung made no compromise with the performance of the three, equipping all the variants with the speedy Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip paired with 12 GB RAM. S20 Ultra can also be upgraded to 16GB. Multitasking is a breeze, and the gaming experience is out-of-the-world.

Battery

Galaxy S20 is packed with a 4000mAh battery. S20+ has a higher capacity with a 4500mAh battery while Ultra has a gigantic 5000mAh cell. Thus, even though S20 Ultra has the largest display, the battery lasts the longest. Wireless and reverse wireless charging are provided in all three devices. Ultra offers the fastest wired charging, though.

Additionally, a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor and a fourth DepthVision camera are present in S20+.

S20 Ultra, however, changed the camera game with a 108 MP primary camera, a 48 MP telephoto unit, and a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

The front cameras in both, S20 and S20+ are 10 MP, while Ultra is equipped with a 40 MP camera in the front.
