Design and display

OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro comparision

OnePlus 8 features a 6.55-inch display while the Pro version is larger with a 6.78-inch screen. OnePlus Pro provides sharper images with a quad-HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3168 (513 ppi), as against the full-HD+ 1080 x 2400 resolution (402 ppi) in OnePlus 8. With a 120Hz refresh rate, the Pro offers a smoother viewing experience as opposed to the 90Hz screen on OnePlus 8. The Pro version also filters out 40% more blue light than the standard version, making the screen more comfortable for viewing.

Battery

A 4,300mmAh battery fuels the lower-priced variant while OnePlus 8 has a smaller 4,510mAh cell. At the lowest screen refresh rate, both models sustain around 11 hours of battery life. Both the models support Warp Charge 30T technology that charges the batteries to 60% full within 30 minutes. The Pro version also supports 30W wireless charging that delivers a 53% charge in half an hour. If you need a phone that lasts long, you can consider buying either of them with interest-free consumer durable loans.

Camera

The triple-camera of OnePlus 8 has Sony’s 48MP IMX586 lens as the primary sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens, and delivers up to 2X zoom. In contrast, OnePlus 8 Pro sports a quad-lens rear camera with Sony’s IMX689 48MP sensor as the primary lens. It also has a 48MP ultra-wide sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x hybrid zoom, and a 5MP color filter that provides advanced lighting effects. The Pro’s bigger sensor features 1.12-micron pixels while the lesser variant has a 0.8-micron pixel size. The quality of photographs is undoubtedly better with the more expensive model.
