Apple Launches New iPad with 10.2-inch Retina Display

Apple has just launched a new 10.2-inch iPad with upgraded features. Apple’s new seventh-generation iPad is the perfect package of speed, size, optimized apps and accessories. With the powerful A10 Fusion Chip and an M10 coprocessor under its hood, the new iPad also has support for a full-sized smart keyboard and the 1st-gen Apple Pencil.

Let’s take a closer look at some of its features.

Apple Pencil

One of the new features of this new iPad is that it supports the Smart Connector, which draws power from the iPad and does not require a manual charge. You can use the first-generation Apple Pencil with the new iPad by connecting it through the port at the bottom. Although Apple Pencil support is not a new feature, now it allows you to do a lot more with this device, that too with more ease and fun. For example, you can capture a screenshot simply by swiping up the pencil, and then add notes or write a comment on it instantly. The Apple Pencil is sold separately and retails for Rs 8500.

Smart Keyboard

The keyboard, like the Apple Pencil, is also connected through Apple’s Smart connector. The smart keyboard is sleek, durable and lightweight. The rubber keys are well-spaced, easy to type on with good feedback and feel nice and soft. Moreover, once you are done using it, the keyboard folds up to become a lightweight cover for the iPad. Like the Apple Pencil, the smart keyboard is also sold separately for a retail price of Rs 13,900.

10.2-inch Retina display

The iPad’s display is sharper and brighter than ever before. The new iPad boasts a Retina display of 2160 X 1620 pixels, which is three times the pixels count of last year’s iPad! This is also Apple’s first entry-level tablet to get an official brightness level rating of 500 nits. With a classic 4:3 aspect ratio, the display offers a wider viewing angle and incredibly sharp detail, thus making it perfect for watching movies, working on projects or just browsing the internet.

Sleek, Light and Durable Design

The new iPad 10.2-inch, while looking modern, is surprisingly very durable too. You can take it anywhere you go without worrying too much and losing your peace of mind. The device is made of 100% recycled aluminium and lives up to Apple’s commitment towards a greener environment. As far as connectivity options go, the new iPad offers Wi-FI 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.0, a flexible USB-C port and, thankfully, a 3.5mm headphone jack.

10-hour Battery Life

Thanks to the efficiency of their in-house A10 Fusion chip powered by a 32.4 WHr battery, you can easily expect up to 10 hours of backup to keep you going through the day.

Price and Release Date

The new seventh-generation iPad 10.2-inch will be available at a starting price of Rs 29,900 for the base model and will go on sale on the 30th of September, 2019.

With a relatively reasonable asking price (this is Apple, after all!) and some killer features, the new iPad definitely seems to be a step-up from their previous versions.
