Detailed Guide on How to Fill up PMAY Application Form

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a Government of India led initiative aimed at providing affordable housing to first-time homeowners. The mission, launched in 2015, promises to build a whopping 2 million fully-functional “pucca” houses by March 2022.

The ‘Housing for all’ scheme comprises of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). These cater to two completely different demographics – the urban poor and rural poor, respectively. Both categories can avail loan subsidies offered under the scheme, which go as low as 6.5%, for a tenure of 20 years.

Till date, the government has done a commendable job in providing affordable housing for poor, with 2.61 lakh housing units sold in 2019 alone, and 2.5 lakh more to be sold by 2021.

The Yojana currently has beneficiaries spread across 26 states and 2508 cities.
