Flat Track Action at India Bike Week 2024

The 2024 India Bike Week (IBW), one of the country’s biggest motorcycle festivals, is slated to be held on December 6-7 in Vagator, Goa. The 11th edition of this much-awaited festival promises to be a landmark event for motorcycle enthusiasts across the nation. Under the overarching theme of ‘The Next Chapter’, IBW 2024 aims to be a bigger and more inclusive festival with its slogan of ‘Everyone as One.’

The India Bike Week has proved to be an excellent platform for riders and aficionados to share experiences and celebrate the spirit of motorcycling. This year, as IBW enters into its second decade, several new elements have been announced. Major highlights include six thrilling race tracks, two live music stages, and the first-ever NXS Music Festival Stage. Fans can also enjoy talks from legendary riders like Elspeth Beard, the first British woman to motorcycle around the world.

However, the most exciting addition this year happens to be the IBW Flat Track Race, held in collaboration with Harley-Davidson. This unique race will use custom Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycles from Rajputana Customs, offering the highest-ever prize pool in IBW’s history, with a grand prize of ₹1 million to be won.

Flat Track Action at IBW 2024

Flat track racing, characterized by its high-speed, left-turn-only circuits on dirt tracks, is not new to the motorcycling arena. Motorcycle enthusiasts are welcoming its inclusion in IBW 2024, believing this to be a chance to bring the exciting sport to the forefront of India’s biking culture. The race will feature a custom Harley-Davidson X440, prepared specially for flat track competitions. Over the two-day event, participants will battle it out in qualifying rounds. The semifinals and the final round will be held on the last day. 

Interestingly, this is the first time the flat track race at IBW has received approval from the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), which means it is being held in accordance with international standards. 

Other Exciting Events at India Bike Week Goa

IBW 2024 has a lineup of exciting events for motorcycle enthusiasts of all skill levels such as a 200-meter dirt drag race, stunt shows, dance-offs, and fashion shows. In line with its mission of fostering camaraderie within the biking community, IBW has also kicked off ‘Chai & Pakoda Rides’ in 20 Indian cities. Designed to bring motorcyclists together over breakfast, and fun games, these rides are meant to promote a riding culture in India while generating excitement in the run-up to India Bike Week in Goa.
